In my opinion, one of the hardest pills for humanity to swallow is the concept of loving yourself. We're not conditioned to do it in our current society. It can be seen as egotistical Is it possible to love yourself while having an awareness that you are not the perfect person you wish you were? Do you say that you love yourself despite your faults, or do you instead say that you love yourself including your faults?
Is one of those statements more acceptable than the other? If you love yourself, including the parts you view as negatives or faulty, is it contradictory then to work to improve yourself?
I have no personal answers to these questions, and am interested in what others think. I guess I fall on the "I love myself despite my faults", because I hope to continue to improve myself. There will always be faults though, which I suppose is the lesson I'm supposed to take in today.
